Points $K, L, M,$ and $N$ lie in the plane of the square $ABCD$ such that $AKB$ , $BLC$ , $CMD$ , and $DNA$ are equilateral triangles. If $ABCD$ has an area of $16$ , find the area of $KLMN$ .
