What is it?
Summer Contest 2026 is TopsOJ's flagship math competition, and you can enter on your own or with a team of up to four. The contest runs three rounds in one afternoon — an Individual round, a Team round, and a fast-paced Guts round — covering algebra, geometry, number theory and combinatorics. Everything is graded automatically the moment you submit, entry is free, and you do not need to be an experienced competitor to take part.
The details

About 20 questions, solved together as a team.
About 12 questions, fast-paced and submitted in sets.
How to register
-
Create a free TopsOJ account
Takes under a minute and needs nothing but an email address.
-
Fill in the registration form
Everyone competing registers themselves at /summer/register, including team members. It asks for your name, school, grade and Discord so we can reach you about the contest and prizes.
-
Enter solo, or confirm your team
Teams are 1 to 4 people, so competing on your own is completely fine. To team up, create or join a team on My Teams, then the captain confirms the team's entry on the registration page. You can only be on one team at a time.
Questions
You can compete alone. Teams are 1 to 4 people, so entering as a team of one is a normal way to take part.
Yes. Leave your current team from the My Teams page and you are free to join another. You can only be on one team at a time, and a captain has to hand captaincy to a teammate before leaving.
A $100 prize pool, plus free entry into a raffle for Art of Problem Solving coupons and Desmos stickers.
Ask in our Discord server — there is a channel for finding teammates. You can also just enter on your own.
Nothing. TopsOJ is a registered not-for-profit and the contest is free to enter.
